We are currently awaiting advance notice of the planned logging work on Holmbury Hill on the BKB slope . We have agreed that we will mark out the trail so that sub-contractors will not harvest any trees that make up the trail and will not cross the trail unnecessarily.
It is likely that they will need to cross the trail in some places and we have requested that they cover the trail with brash first to reduce the damage. It is likely that some damage will be caused and the trail will certainly have to be closed for a duration, however, we will be focused on re-opening the trail and repairing any damage as soon as possible.

Crossing the trail with machinery and damaging it slighty is one thing, but leaving a stack of around 40 lengths of pinewood timber half way across BKB is just not on. This is very dangerous when you’re used to riding this trail at a good speed and suddenly have to swerve or in my case stop for 20 mins and throw then of the trail!
